Canada's Wonderland

We all have heard of Canada's Wonderland, right? Well, if you haven't, Canada's Wonderland is an amusement park based in Vaughan Ontario, Canada. It is lots of fun with crazy cool, and wild rides suited for everyone. Canada's Wonderland even has a water park inside which is cool. Lots of people go each year so there are long line-ups usually. Website with map:  http://www.canadaswonderland.com/plan-a-visit/park-map

There is a new ride for this 2012 Canada's Wonderland season and it is called the "Leviathan". Last years, 2011 new ride was the "Windseeker". Cool ride, but not reccommended for people who are afraid of heights. In 2008, a still famous ride was the "Behemoth. Awesome ride, but scary for the 1st time around.

The 'Leviathan' is a three 32 passenger train. There is 8 cars with 4 seats per car per train. There is only a lapbar restaints, so it makes you literially want to fall out of your seat. The track length is approxmately- 5,486' (1,672m) with an angle of approx. 80 degrees (80°) and also a lift height of about approx. 306' (93.3m). This new ride lasts about approx. 3 mins and 28 secs. There are quite a few drops, the first one is with a speed of about approx. 92 mph (148 km/h). Its a 306' lift with an 80° drop at a speed of 148 km/h. The 3rd turn is about 164' barrel roll, with a 122 km/h speed curve, followed by 183' camelback, then 147' oberbanked hammerhead with a curve of 115°, followed by another high speed curve of 96km/h, followed by another 124' camelback, and another high speed curve, and thats the end of your ride back at the station.

Anyone going to go on this ride, I wish you the best of luck!

My Prezi's

Prezi is a 2.0 web art tool to create kind of like a slideshow. Its really cool. My teacher got the class starting to use it, and I like it. I wouldn't use it for everything though. At first its kind of confusing, but when I created my second one, I got the hang of it and liked it.
Here is my 1st Prezi, Free creation: Katy Perry http://prezi.com/m7_ir5-i4gcs/katy-perry/
My 2nd Prezi for History Project: Canada A Changing Society

Please no hate and hope you enjoy it instead since I worked hard on it. Thanks! :)

Looking Bad at my Worest Day

On the year of 2005/06, I was on my Winter Holiday Break here in Kingston, I went skating. Nothing bad happened.... Not! The day I went skating was the 2nd most terrible day of my 13 years of life! I was skating with my brother, but more like chasing him when I fell down awkwardly. I cried and cried and was unable to move! My terrible brother just left me there! My mom was there, but unable to get me, but a nice kind stranger helped me get to the bleachers. My mom called my dad who came to get me and drove me to the hospital. I told him to drive slowly and try to advoid potholes or bumps since I was in serious pain. When I got to the hospital, no bone doctor was working since they were on holidays or left already to examine me. The nurse casted my leg because every move, touch, and un-smooth travel hurted. I waited for 2 days to see my bone doctor. That day I got an x-ray of my leg and who knew taking off a cast could be so SCARY for a first timer. What was worse on top of that, my doctor confirmed that I broken my fibula and tibia! My leg got re-casted and during the middleof January, I got surgery. They put plates to hold my bones together while my bones healed. My relatives and friends were in support for me to get better. I missed alot of school days and did my work at home. Things changed for me alot! Endless hours of movies and T.V. and computer! In 2007, with lots of check-ups to see how my bones healed, my bones finally healed! That may be very happy, but that meant another surgery for the plates to be taken out. The happy part is that after my surgeries, my dad and brother treated me like a princess and mom takes extra care of me! After my cast got taken off, I had to re-learn how to put pressure on my right leg and walk, I was not yet able to run. Year after that I joined track and field with my brother! Now, I'm back to normal.

☻A Face of Tomorrow☺

 A) Where I got the best definition - (http://www.globalization101.org/What_is_Globalization.html)
Globalization means working well along the way with the cultures of different people and different working businesses. To do this we would be doing world-wide trading with different people/culture and be helped by communication systems. By doing this it affects our habitat, our differences (clothes, skin, language e.t.c) in our community world.
 B) Website that I used to help me: http://www.faceresearch.org/tech/prototyping
One would go about making these average faces by computer graphics making another same person, but changes her/him up a little of the faces to a 3rd person of different people.
Over by the years of real life, your face changes because of your gender whatever your gender is, your growing up so your face changes. As you get nearer to be a teenager your going to get zits,e.t.c. So over the generations your face will change because of your age and gender.

 C) What I found interesting in 'The Face of Tomorrow' is this "The large metropolises of the world are magnets for migrants from all parts of the planet resulting in new mixtures of peoples" because I actually didn't know that. I also found this interesting too, 'The resulting population is fairly uniform suggesting that if you could combine all the faces in a city right now you would be looking at the future face of that city'. That sounds very fascinating. What I think 'The Face of Tomorrow' means the effects of globalization on identity. The differences in our faces give us a sense of identity because its who we are, so we can be recognized by the people we know. What surprised me is how we can actually combine faces to make the face of tomorrow. What I expected is something cooler into making it and not like so simple.

 D) Who I added is 2 girls and 2 guys to create this    =     ---►

Why I think this might be the face of tomorrow is because
it kinda looks like us (the globalization in the world) right now
with the pictures I chose. Also, most girls wear the hair sorta short/medium
and the guys have short hair, and this picture right besides me is wearing her hair
short or maybe is in a bun so medium too maybe. I think this might be the face
of tomorrow because this face might be somebodies face in the future in this world.

A Exceptional Experiences Photo Contest

Winning Photo on Dowkers Page: http://dowkerclassroom.blogspot.com/2011/04/exceptional-experiences-photo-contest.html
National Geographic Runner-up Photos: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/chasesapphire/winners/

I agree with the judges choice. Those photos are like awesome especially this one: (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/chasesapphire/winners/#/client-chase-sapphire-31990_33254_600x450.jpg). The winning photo was pretty cool, too. I agree with the judges choice because these photos are amazing and they capture my attendition. Some of them were cute and made me cheerful, others were cool and looked like a dangerous trip.

1 in 7 Billion

“But we don't take up as much space as you'd think.
Standing shoulder to shoulder all 7 billion of us would fill the city of Los Angeles.
So it's not space we need – it's balance.”

In my opinion, I believe these words mean that we have tons of space in this world, but we need to balance our uses. We gotta share the things in this world and not hog everything. Like food because some countries/people don't have enough food in there country to survive and they go hungry. Same goes with water because not everyone in this world have clean water to drink. Not everyone is lucky to live in Canada because we have enough of everything mostly. This world needs to stay balanced for as we live altogether in this world.

910,000,000 people in our world don't have clean drinking water.
2,660,000,000 people in our world lack adequate sanitation.
Wow, imagine that.If I were one of these people being affected with no clean drinking water or lack adequate sanitation, then I'll go crazy or wild. I mean with no clean drinking water, I'll die of thirst. I don't know how those people can manage that. I mean imagine no clean drinking water a week, a month, a year even and you might never know when you'll get clean drinking water. How do you suppose a person can survive. I know I wouldn't. A lack of adequate sanitation means no getting clean. I know I can actually never live through a week without being clean, having no shower/baths, no sink. I feel bad for those people who don't have what we have in Canada because I'm living perfectly happy in my home.
